A Hasty Marriage

222 pages

A delightful, old-school romp where a scandalous misunderstanding paves the way for an unexpectedly tender romance.

What it feels like

Reading this book feels like slipping into a perfectly preserved time capsule of classic Regency romance. It moves at a brisk, engaging pace, propelled by the delightfully farcical trope of an accidental bedroom compromise. The mood is cozy and comforting, wrapping the reader in a lighthearted atmosphere where the stakes are purely matters of the heart. The prose is straightforward and charming, focusing heavily on the witty, tentative banter between two people forced into a marriage of convenience. As the emotional arc shifts from awkward obligation to genuine, tender affection, the story delivers a deeply satisfying payoff. It is a perfect afternoon escape for readers who adore vintage historical romances, forced proximity, and the sweet tension of a marriage in name only blossoming into true love.

About the book

It was all a mistake. When dashing Lord Arundale (quite the catch of the countryside despite the fact that he had given up on women) accidentally stumbled into Drina Alcott's bedroom, that lovely young innocent pulled up the bedcovers and stared in horror. But by now the rest of the household, including her furious uncle, had been alerted to this seemingly shameful state of affairs. They assumed the worst. And so Drina, whose heart had been secretly lusting after the young Lord anyway, was forced into a marriage in name only. To all appearances, it was a most respectable marriage. The surprise came when suddenly they fell in love.
