Chateau D'armor

188 pages

A sweeping, atmospheric vintage romance where family secrets and brooding suspicion collide in a sun-drenched French chateau.

What it feels like

Stepping into this novel feels like unlocking a time capsule of classic romantic suspense, where the air is thick with unspoken tension and the setting is as much a character as the brooding hero. The narrative unfolds at a steady, deliberate pace, allowing the reader to soak in the lush, atmospheric details of a grand French estate steeped in hidden history. It balances the cozy thrill of archival research with the electric, push-and-pull dynamic of a heroine out of her depth and a fiercely protective, suspicious love interest. The prose is earnest and evocative, leaning into the melodramatic charm of vintage category romance. It is a perfect, nostalgic escape for readers who crave slow-burn attraction, gothic-tinged family mysteries, and the sweeping emotional surrender of old-school romance.

About the book

esamine's assignment, doing research into an old French family in a romantic chateau, would be fascinating. The fact that there was a long-standing link between the d'Armor family and her own added immensely to the interest. But her work, and her relationship with the attractive Paul d'Armor, led her into deeper waters than she had expected.... for she soon realised that there was some mystery about the family that they were anxious should be concealed from her. Paul was particularly suspicious of her - which was a pity, as Jasmine had speedily fallen in love with him. How could she go on with her work without alienating him altogether?
