Hinds' feet on high places
First published 1973 · 346 pages
A gentle, allegorical journey that transforms paralyzing fear into spiritual freedom and quiet courage.
What it feels like
Reading this book feels like taking a slow, deliberate walk through a rugged but ultimately beautiful spiritual landscape. It is deeply earnest and unapologetically allegorical, wrapping profound lessons about anxiety, suffering, and surrender in the gentle guise of a fable. The pace is steady and reflective, inviting the reader to pause and map their own emotional struggles onto the protagonist's arduous climb. While the atmosphere is often steeped in the heavy realities of sorrow and fear, it is continually pierced by moments of divine comfort and pastoral serenity. The prose is simple, slightly archaic, and deeply comforting. It is a perfect companion for anyone wrestling with self-doubt or seeking a quiet, reassuring reminder that the most painful trials often pave the way to profound inner freedom.

About the book
Fabulous!! The story of Miss Much Afraid, who goes on a journy to the High Places, kept safe by the shepherd. It is lessons on trusting God/Jesus and accepting trials of life as fuel for blessings and character building and faith building. One of the books that has most set me free from fears. Helped me identify destructive emotions giveing them names. Highly recommend reading this.
