Honeymoon Baby (Do Not Disturb)

First published 1998 · 185 pages

A deliciously soapy, trope-tastic 90s romance where forced proximity and a fake marriage melt a fiercely guarded heart.

What it feels like

Reading this classic 90s category romance feels like indulging in a perfectly crafted, soapy daydream. The narrative moves at a brisk, entertaining clip, throwing its fiercely independent heroine into a delightfully chaotic web of her own making. The atmosphere is warm and escapist, thick with the delicious, crackling tension of forced proximity and a fake marriage. It leans heavily into the breathless, dialogue-driven prose characteristic of vintage romance, prioritizing emotional directness and high-stakes interpersonal drama over quiet introspection. As the initial comedic panic gives way to genuine vulnerability, the emotional texture deepens into something surprisingly tender. It is a perfect comfort read for anyone who loves the unapologetic melodrama and guaranteed swoon of a classic secret-baby, pretend-husband trope.

About the book

Jennifer had taken drastic measures to become pregnant, and she was saving every ounce of love she had for her baby. There was no room in her life for marriage - but now the father of her unborn child had arrived on her doorstep!

Jennifer's first problem was that her entire family believed Raphael Jordan was actually her husband - and that, at last, the happy couple could have a honeymoon! Her second was that Raphael was delighted to oblige - so Jennifer was forced to share a bed with her gorgeous, sexy, pretend husband!
