Hunter Of The East

188 pages

A tempestuous, sun-drenched battle of wills where a chaotic mistake leads to a high-stakes marriage of convenience.

What it feels like

Reading this vintage romance feels like stepping into a sun-drenched, melodramatic time capsule. The pacing is brisk and breathless, sweeping the reader from a delightfully absurd kidnapping gone wrong straight into the tempestuous landscape of the Greek islands. The mood is thick with tension, fueled by fiery arguments and the undeniable, reluctant attraction between a fiercely independent heroine and an unapologetically domineering hero. The prose is dramatic and heavily stylized, leaning into the intense emotional volatility characteristic of 1970s category romance. It is an escapist, high-stakes battle of wills that will delight readers who crave the unapologetic tropes, forced proximity, and explosive culture clashes of classic, old-school romantic fiction.

About the book

Kim Lyttleton's flighty young foster-sister was about to ruin her life by running off with a married man, and her family were worried to death about it.

It was the practical Kim who decided that something drastic would have to be done -- and she was the one to do it. The answer, she declared, was to kidnap the man in question. Unfortunately, Kim kidnapped the wrong man... and the tables were well turned when she found herself in the power of a very angry Greek, Damon Souris, who declared that if she didn't want to be handed over to the Greek authorities on a serious charge she had better do as he said and marry him!

Faced with that alternative, Kim had no choice but to agree -- but what sort of marriage could she possibly expect?
