Permission to Love

288 pages

A vintage, high-angst romance steeped in simmering tension, aristocratic duty, and explosive emotional whiplash.

What it feels like

Stepping into this vintage romance feels like being swept up in a tempest of high-stakes emotional melodrama and simmering, unspoken desires. The narrative moves at a brisk, breathless pace, driven entirely by the intense, often frustrating power dynamics between its leads. It is a deeply angsty, emotionally charged reading experience, steeped in the claustrophobic weight of aristocratic duty, inheritance, and patriarchal control. The prose is earnest and emotionally explicit, laying bare every ounce of betrayal, longing, and sudden passion. Readers who devour classic, trope-heavy category romances featuring domineering heroes, sudden reversals of fortune, and the explosive collision of duty and desire will find themselves completely absorbed by this tense, dramatic journey toward hard-won surrender.

About the book

Lucas had always urged Lindsay to take charge of her own life, even though it meant defying her father’s wishes. All that changed however, the day Lucas was left in charge of Lindsay’s inheritance—and her fate.

Quite suddenly Lucas withdrew his support and directed Lindsay to marry according to her father’s will. He made it painfully clear that Lindsay could no longer turn to him for warmth and affection.

But by the time she’d resigned herself to a future without passion with a man she did not love, Lucas changed his mind again.
