740 pages
A scholarly and mystical descent into the rituals, spells, and profound spiritual hopes of the ancient world.
What it feels like
Reading this collection feels like stepping into the cool, shadowed corridors of an ancient tomb, guided by the flickering light of a scholar's torch. It is not a book to be rushed; the pace is leisurely and meditative, demanding that you sit with its dense, ritualistic prose and archaic incantations. The mood is deeply solemn and otherworldly, steeped in the profound mysteries of mortality, divine judgment, and the soul's journey toward eternal life. The authoritative, reverent tone bridges the gap between academic treatise and mystical grimoire. It will utterly captivate history enthusiasts, mythology lovers, and spiritual seekers who are drawn to the esoteric power of language and the timeless human quest to conquer death.

About the book
The Book of the Dead is the title now commonly given to the great collection of funerary texts which the ancient Egyptian scribes composed for the benefit of the dead. These consist of spells and incantations, hymns and litanies, magical formulae and names, words of power and prayers, and they are found cut or painted on walls of pyramids and tombs, and painted on coffins and sarcophagi and rolls of papyri. This book is the treatise and analysis of The Book of the Dead, (also known as Spells of Coming and Forth by Day), by Egyptologist E. A. Wallis Budge
