A cozy, traditional Regency romance where domestic competence and gentle proximity blossom into a sweet second chance at love.
What it feels like
Reading this traditional Regency romance feels like stepping into a sunlit, slightly dusty manor house and watching it slowly come back to life. The narrative unfolds at a steady, comforting pace, wrapping the reader in a cozy, domestic atmosphere where the primary tension comes from meddling relatives rather than high-stakes melodrama. It is a deeply heartwarming experience, driven by the quiet satisfaction of seeing a highly competent heroine bring order to both a neglected estate and a lonely widower's heart. The prose is clean and gently witty, perfectly suited to a low-angst story about second chances. It will thoroughly delight fans of old-school, sweet historical romances who prefer their love stories built on mutual respect, shared domesticity, and the slow, warm burn of unexpected affection.

About the book
Widower Sir Michael Stewart is stunned when he learns that his elderly neighbor has left her cousin, the forthright but lovely Catriona Grant, to him in her will. Catriona seems to assume that she is to become his housekeeper and immediately starts putting his long-neglected estate to rights. But when his married daughters in London hear gossip about the interloper they rush home to keep the two apart. Eventually though an even greater surprise emerges when Catriona turns out to be more than just an anonymous poor relation.
