Exile

592 pages

A glittering magical sanctuary is threatened by buried secrets, blending wondrous creature-taming with a tense, high-stakes psychological mystery.

What it feels like

Returning to this glittering elven world feels like stepping into a sunlit sanctuary, only to realize the shadows are growing longer. The reading experience balances the pure, soaring joy of bonding with a mythical creature against the creeping dread of fractured, dangerous memories. It is a briskly paced, emotionally charged journey that leans heavily into the anxieties of its young protagonist, making her internal struggles just as compelling as the external magical perils. The prose is accessible and earnest, wrapping the reader in a tight-knit found family while slowly ratcheting up the suspense. Fans of expansive magical academies, telepathic bonds, and heroes who must shoulder immense burdens to protect the people they love will find themselves completely absorbed.
